Integrated Solutions (HL7)

Hospital systems typically employ multiple computer systems to manage patient health information from admission and discharge information through orders and billing. In order to increase the availability of patient information for care providers, these disparate systems need to communicate with each other to exchange data.

WoundExpert is the wound care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) integration leader, successfully implementing and maintaining more than 110 interfaces at present. We utilize the universally accepted Health Level Seven (HL7) standard for most communications with hospital information systems, from enterprise-level to homegrown hospital systems. There isn’t a vendor enterprise-level to homegrown hospital system we have not been able to successfully integrate with WoundExpert.

Here is a sample list of vendors we have interfaced with recently:

  • Meditech Magic
  • Meditech Client/Server
  • McKesson Star
  • McKesson Series
  • McKesson Horizon Patient Folder
  • Siemens Invision
  • Siemens Sorian
  • Eclipsys Sunrise Enterprise
  • Epic EpicCare
  • GE Carecast
  • Lastword
  • Cerner Millennium
  • MedPlus Chartmaxx
  • VistaKEANE

  • In-house, proprietary applications

Supported HL7 Integrations

  • Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) — receive patient admission, discharge and transfer information containing demographics, referring and primary care physicians, and insurance coverage.
  • Billing — sending ICD–9 and CPT information directly to your hospital billing system, helping to improve the efficiency of billing claims.
  • Orders — sends ancillary services (i.e. lab, radiology, etc) orders to the clinical system and fulfilled order results returned from the clinical system are filed with the appropriate patient encounter.
  • Results — send clinical result data entered into WoundExpert to hospital electronic medical records systems for review by multiple care providers within the hospital system.
  • Scheduling — Used to communicate patient’s appointment from the hospital scheduling system to WoundExpert.
